The high-profile documentary ‘Plastic Paradise’ hit screens in autumn 2018 and made the extent of plastic pollution painfully clear. Nine million tonnes of plastic end up in the sea every year. This huge amount of waste accumulates in various places in the oceans, forming huge ‘plastic islands’. The realisation that things really could not go on like this prompted CEO Jeremy Looijer to develop an entirely new range of eco-friendly and plastic-free alternatives: Clean-C, which references the English ‘clean sea’.
The Clean-C range comprises sustainable labels, as well as paper and linerless rolls, all of which are completely free of plastic and chemicals. The little plastic that is unavoidable for the packaging contains clearly visible recycling instructions for the user. The range is made of sustainable materials and is 100% compostable and biodegradable in some cases. Would you like more information about our sustainable labels and paper and linerless rolls?
Paper rolls made of environmentally-friendly thermal paper (Blue4Est) with neither chemicals nor a plastic core. The packaging of these paper rolls is also entirely plastic-free.
Blue4Est paper does not contain any leuco dyes and can be used in most thermal printers. Black prints are not the result of a chemical reaction, but instead of a simple physical reaction. The inkdrops in the bottom layer are released when exposed to the heat of the printer head. This makes the print visible. Blue4Est won the 2017 Green Chemistry Award.
Paper material
Less waste because the labels don’t have paper backing, and a cardboard core. Is there anything more environmentally-friendly than the Clean-C linerless rolls? No way!
