Questions regarding upcoming European legislation

Dear customer,

Following the many questions regarding upcoming European legislation such as PPWR, PFAS, EUDR and other related sustainability requirements, we would like to transparently inform you about the current state of affairs within our industry.

At present, the final implementation guidelines, technical specifications and practical interpretations of several European legislative texts have not yet been fully published or clarified. As a result, significant uncertainties and open questions still exist within the market regarding, among other things, material classifications, recyclability criteria, reporting obligations, compliance requirements, mono-materials and future product declarations.

Our suppliers, as well as their respective raw material suppliers, currently do not yet possess all definitive data, test results or official confirmations required to provide binding declarations or full compliance guarantees for all products and applications.

Nevertheless, we are closely monitoring these developments together with our European partners, suppliers and industry organisations. As soon as additional official information, technical guidelines or validated declarations become available, we will continue to update our documentation, technical data sheets and communication accordingly.

We would also like to emphasise that:

  • our raw materials are primarily sourced from European suppliers;
  • we strongly focus on packaging solutions designed according to recyclability principles and aligned with our Clean-C vision;
  • we continuously work on optimising material usage, reducing packaging waste and supporting mono-material solutions wherever technically feasible;
  • compliance in many cases remains dependent on the entire supply chain, the final application and future legal interpretations;
  • interpretations and practical applications of the legislation may still evolve as additional European guidelines and national implementations are published.

In addition, we are currently actively searching for a suitable software partner and data platform to properly, transparently and efficiently manage and streamline future legal requirements, supplier information and compliance data within our organisation and towards our customers.

In the meantime, we are already conducting extensive surveys and information requests with our suppliers and their respective raw material partners in order to gather available information as comprehensively as possible and to support future compliance requirements to the greatest extent possible.

For this reason, we are currently unable to confirm definitive or absolute compliance guarantees for certain applications, materials or products as long as the European legislation and its related implementation modalities have not yet been fully established.

Naturally, we remain committed to informing our customers as accurately, transparently and proactively as possible as soon as additional information becomes available.
